Mr. President, Please Commute Charles Littlejohn’s Extreme Prison Sentence

This past May 1, the former IRS employee Charles Littlejohn began serving a five-year federal prison sentence for sharing the tax returns of some of America’s most prominent billionaires — including Donald Trump — with investigative journalists from the New York Times and ProPublica. Before that 2020 disclosure, Trump had broken decades of White House tradition by refusing, as president, to release his most recent tax returns.
