A cadre of Californians opposing a ballot proposal to tax billionaires have seen their personal wealth increase by over 64 percent in the last twenty months.
When I wrote recently in CNN Business that there should be fewer billionaires in the United States, it was nothing personal. The problem, as I wrote, isn’t a few individuals making money. It’s the whole system that allows their wealth to balloon, all at the expense of everything else we care about – including our democracy.
